Meet Philip Modeste

Leader with a Passion for Education and Grace.
Pastor Philip Modeste is the founder and spiritual leader of Kehilat Hesed-Tabernacle of Grace. Driven by a desire to serve his community, Pastor Modeste has built a ministry focused on making the light of Yeshua (יֵשׁוּעַ) (Jesus) practical to everyday living. He does this by teaching the *Scripture from a Hebraic perspective and allowing the Ruach Ha-Kodesh (רוח הקודש) (Holy Spirit) to lead and guide the congregation into deeper truths.
Pastor Modeste holds a unique combination of degrees: Biblical Studies including Hebrew/Greek studies, a Masters of Healthcare Management (MHA), and a PhD in Public Health Administration. This blend of academic and spiritual knowledge equips him to not only teach *Scriptures (Torah) but also guide his congregation through real-world challenges.
Building a Welcoming Community
His vision for Kehilat Hesed is clear: a non-judgmental and safe space where people can grow in their faith. He encourages his congregation to live out their spiritual beliefs in their daily lives. He believes in the transformative power of experiencing God's GRACE ((c)Hesed) and desires to see his flock "grow up spiritually and live victoriously."
A Seasoned Leader and Mentor
Pastor Modeste's journey began in 1998 together with his wife Janis as they embarked on a ministry path as a newly wed couple. He began serving under Rabbi Bill Eckmann in Honolulu, Hawaii. There, he deepened his understanding of Hebrew and received valuable mentorship. Over the years, he continued to hone his leadership skills under various Messianic Rabbis and Christian Pastors. This experience culminated in his ordination and the founding of Kehilat Hesed.
Extending His Reach
Pastor Modeste's passion for education extends beyond the church walls. He established The Masters Kids Academy, a testament to his desire to nurture young minds. Recognizing the needs of troubled youth and later founded The Masters Educational Foundation's (www.themasterseducationalfoundation.org) Behavior Empowerment Center, located in Clermont, Florida to further address educational challenges and support vulnerable youth in his community. The Masters Foundation is a non-for-profit organization and we are grateful for our volunteers and donors that makes this ministry a success in our community.
A Leader in Minneola, Florida
Currently residing in Minneola, Florida, with his wife, Janis and their five children, Pastor Modeste continues to inspire and guide his congregation at Kehilat Hesed. His dedication to education, spiritual growth, and community service makes him a valuable asset to the Minneola area.
*Scriptures: Note that the term "Tanakh" is a Hebrew acronym for the three main sections of the Hebrew Bible: Torah, Nevi'im (Prophets), and Ketuvim (Writings). What many call the Old Testament is essentially the Tanakh תנ"ך (Tanakh), New Testament: ברית חדשה (Brit Chadasha), Torah: תורה (Torah)
